This is what makes Restaurant Europa so special

If a new restaurant comes from the same spots as Euro Pizza and Bar Benelux (they are even neighbours), you can bet you will be surprised. And that was the case when we recently visited Restaurant Europa. Upon entering, you first notice the extended space, which would lend itself perfectly to many tables. That was too obvious a choice for the owners, who previously operated Restaurant Europa at the Hemterrein. Instead, they opted for a substantial turquoise bar stretching from the entrance to the end. This way, you have excellent contact with the service (a plus) and the chefs and other kitchen staff (an even bigger plus!). The food is freshly prepared in front of you, and as soon as a dish is ready, the chef turns around to give a detailed explanation of the ingredients and the idea behind it. Chefs and owners Bastiaan de Groot and Rein op ‘t Root saw this phenomenon happening a lot in Japan and thought it was high time to give it a European twist.

Menu Restaurant Europa

The menu varies based on what the chefs have in store for you. At the long, angular bar (suitable for dining with more than two people, the corners also allow four people to sit together comfortably) the chefs prepare a five- or seven-course tasting menu for €55 and €75, respectively. The menu provides original drinks, from alcohol-free pear cider to tasty champagnes and unique beers. It is a fact that an original fine dining concept requires at least such original drinks – and they know this better than anyone at Restaurant Europa.
