Where is the best place to find accurate current ocean water temperatures? It seems in doing random searches I get very random differing temperatures from site to site.

Piers and surf sites/apps have the best data IMO. Duck Research Pier, Avalon Pier, Surfline and local surf shops/websites.
Keep in mind the variations of “sea surface temp” versus deeper and further out, like buoys and the end of the fishing pier…

Do not use Satellite Based Sources, way too much variation from actual, on site readings. You want Surf Zone Temps not from the surf even out 1 mile which Satellites will include. Additionally, Outer Banks surf zone water temps vary somewhat from Corolla to Ocraco*ke. There is a natural significant change or variation at Buxton. Hatteras Island turns to the Southwest and the Wind Direction and Currents can increase temps almost 10 degrees over Northern locations. The Duck Research used to be the best for Corolla on down to Hatteras Island. The Site used to be published by the National Data Buoy Center as DUNK7. However sometime last year the site did not have Temp readings. Jeanettes Pier is good. Be cautious of Tourism Sites they will use averages and want to make it sound better than it is. For example, the Water Temp info published in the Tourism Guides is an Average from Corolla to Hatteras. Location and daily Wind Directions will poke big holes in it. Kitty Hawk Ocean Temps will remain too cold to enjoy until June. Even then you better like Mid 60's to 70 on a real good day. How about 60's in July? Yes Sir with the right Conditions. Beware of the Westerly Wind. The Prevailing Summer Wind on the Outer Banks is Southwest. Have fun.

^ This for folks in or around the area. I'm 2.5 miles to the south and love that site for real-time data. I've found nothing else that seems accurate. I've not found any sites that post on-site equipment readings for sound temps yet, but haven't looked too hard.

Is that today, 75 degrees pin on the windy site. Thats a Satellite site. Not enough discrimination. That Pin seems to be on the 50 to 100 fathom curve off Hatteras. KH surf Temps to day are in Mid 50s.

Little Bridge, the best I could come up with is the OIFC Boat Basin temp at 54 degrees. That might be affected a little more by the Inlet than would the Little Bridge. I would bet no more than high 50s.

The thing about water temperature in the OBX that always amazes me is the difference between Cape Point and north vs. Cape Point and south. Those southern facing beaches can be significantly warmer than from ....Buxton and north.
Last April on our way to Ocraco*ke, we spent a night at the Outer Banks motel in Buxton. The water was so cold it was unbearable (except for my 8 year old). I figured it was going to be a long week. We got to Ocraco*ke and the water was very seasonably pleasant.
Hell, even the few miles from Frisco to Buxton can make a huge difference in temperature.

Ocraco*ke is like a little gem. I’ve never stayed there, but have done day trips a lot over the years. The water is warm, the sand dollars are plentiful, and Silver Lake and its harbor remind me of the Caribbean. Such a cool place.

I know you asked for Water Temp, but this is the place I go for my Beach Weather.
It give you wind speed, wind direction and real feel temps on the beach as well as wave heights. As a fisherman it is the perfect app for me especially in the summer when Flies become an issue. You can see what time the wind will shift to ensure flies are not an issue, or you can just know what to expect when you get there.
