  • Tell Us About Your Pet!Do you have a pet you love? Larner is planning a pet spotlight series on social media. Please submit a high-quality photo along with your name/pronouns /area of study/class year, pet's name, age, breed/species, and 1-paragraph description. Example spotlight: Meet Scooby, our first Larner Pet Spotlight of the semester! Scooby is a chatty five-year-old great dane who belongs to M1 student John Glenn. Scooby loves watching birds and squirrels through the window, scrounging for scraps of pizza, and bouncing for attention.   • Co2024: Only two more issues of the WeeklyWire left!We plan to send you the next two issues of the WeeklyWire, and then the Class of 2024 will be removed from distribution. If you wish to continue to receive the WeeklyWire after graduating, pleasesubscribe using a new non-MED email address (subscribe form is in our right-hand menu, in the online version of the Wire).
  • Co2024: Important Graduation Information-Sunday, May 19, 2024, 3:00 P.M.Regalia pick up starts on Tuesday, 5/7 and the deadline to request ceremony tickets is 12pm on 5/8. Regalia for the Class of 2024 has arrived and can be picked up in front of the Office of Medical Education on the following days: Tuesday, May 7 - 11:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.; Wednesday, May 8 - 11:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.; Friday, May 10 - 11:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.; Tuesday, May 14, 11:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.; Wednesday, May 15 - 11:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. Graduates who are unable to pick up regalia at these time should contact Liz Dohrman. Reminder: the deadline to request guest tickets for the Class of 2024 graduation is 12pm on May 8. Upcoming and Ongoing Opportunities

  • Summer Employment Opportunities with the Office of Medical Education-Apply now!Three positions available: Two working with Foundations and Capstone Curriculum Quality Improvement, and one with LCOM Admissions.Full job descriptions can be found here.   • Red Wheelbarrow Call for Submissions-submit by May 31st, 2024.The Red Wheelbarrow, UVM Larner College of Medicine’s literary and visual arts magazine, is now open for submissions for the 2024 digital and print publication! Please submit your artwork, writing, or performancehereorby email.

  • Pediatrics / Family Medicine Grand Rounds-Monday, May 13, 2024, 8-9AM, Davis Auditorium. Presented by The University of Vermont Medical Center, Pediatrics and Family Medicine and the Khan Family Fund Refugee and Immigrant Health Lectureship. Topic: “Opportunities to advance health equity amidst a shifting migration landscape in Vermont." With generous funding from Drs. Salwa and Omar Khan, this is a joint Grand Rounds with Family Medicine and Pediatrics, occurring twice yearly, focused on improving health care for Refugee and Immigrant patients and families.   • Drop-in Hours with AHEC-Tuesday, May 14, 11:30-1:30pm, Given Rolling table/counter (generally located in front of MedComm office space.) These drop-in hours are provided for students and residents to connect with members of the AHEC team. Drop-in hours are offered regularly to ensure AHEC staff are available on-site to discuss our programs, including the AHEC Scholars Program, AHEC’s incentive scholarships and educational loan repayment programs, Vermont physician job placement services, and more.Schedule a time to visit with a specific member of the AHEC teamor drop by any Tuesday between 11:30-1:30 to visit with the AHEC team member on-site. Don't hesitate to ask housing contacts if they would consider lowering the advertised rate to secure a graduate student; it never hurts to ask!

Lost & Found

Lost something? Email the Office of Medical Education (OME) a description of the item. OME and the Dana Medical Libraryrecently joined the UVM campus-wide lost & found system and search not only the College of Medicine, but campus as a whole to see if it's been turned in. If it hasn't, the office can file a claim for the item should someone turn it in soon!

Found something? Please turn it into either the Office of Medical Education (Given Courtyard n100) or the Dana Medical Library (First floor of the Medical Education Center) and we will be sure to log it into the Campus-Wide Lost & Found Database.

Found items are kept up to 30 days, and then are donated to variouslocal organizations depending on the item.
